The Museum’s national car donation program is a hassle-free way of putting your used vehicle to work supporting our efforts to tell the story of the American experience during World War II. In addition, you may be eligible to receive a tax deduction for the vehicle’s sale price.
How it Works
The National WWII Museum has teamed with Charitable Auto Resources, Inc. (CARS), to accept vehicle donations across the United States.
Once you contact our customer service representative about making the donation, everything will be taken care of—including free vehicle pick–up—in any state. Once your vehicle is sold, we'll send you a receipt for your tax records, and the sale proceeds will be donated to The National WWII Museum in your name.
If the car sells for less than $500.00, the receipt given when the car is towed away will serve as your tax receipt. If the car sells for $500.00 or more, your will receive a 1098-C form for tax purposes.

Déduction fiscale
Pour les dons réalisés entre le 1er janvier 2019 et le 31 décembre 2019 :
La réduction d’impôt est égale à 75% des versements effectués, dans la limite de 546 € (art. 200 du Code Général des Impôts). Pour la part des dons comprise entre 546 € et 20% de votre revenu imposable, la réduction est de 66%.
Exemple : si vous faites un don de 100€, il ne vous coûtera en réalité que 25€.
Afin de bénéficier de la réduction d’impôt, c'est très simple : il suffit de joindre à votre déclaration de revenus le reçu fiscal que l’UNICEF vous adresse.

The CHS HELPLINE relies on external funding and donations to remain operational. CHS invites you to do your part to help it continue to help every person in Belgium who needs its services. Please donate today. This may be done in several ways:
If you want to obtain a tax deduction in Belgium: Please make a transfer to the King Baudouin Foundation (KBF) bank account BE10 0000 0000 0404 with a structured message 016/0920/00007, the message identifying the CHS fund. Or click here to make an online donation via the KBF website.
Donors transferring €40 or more to KBF during a calendar year will receive early in the following year a certificate from KBF permitting a tax deduction in Belgium.
For fund-raising linked to a certain event (marriage, birthdays, etc.) for the benefit of the Fund, KBF has to be notified in advance and a specific code is assigned by KBF to identify each related donation.
If you want to obtain a tax deduction in the US: U.S. donors can also support CHS activities in a tax-efficient way through a contribution to the “American Friends of CHS in Belgium Fund” at the King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS). Because KBFUS is a public charity, within the meaning of Sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) of the IRC, donors may claim the maximum tax benefits allowed by U.S. tax law for their contributions. If you wish to support CHS, here is how to proceed:
1.) Gifts by check: Write your check to KBFUS, write “Community Help Service ASBL” in the memo section of the check, and send it to KBFUS, 10 Rockefeller Plaza, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10020. (See below for an example of the gift form which should accompany the check.)

Car donation schemes in the UK are slightly different from those operating in the United States and only established themselves as a valued source of income for UK charities in January 2010, led by Giveacar – a non-profit organisation.[3] Operating as a non-profit organisation allows charities to avoid the large overheads created by profit-making car donation companies. In addition, whereas car donation in the US has been incentivised through tax breaks, in the UK there are no such tax benefits to donating your car.

Vehicle donations in America are operated in a wide variety of plans, ranging from highly organized and professional-grade not-for-profit, national, or local charities to scrap yards, haulers, tow-truck companies and salvagers who establish programs that may support a charity.[4] According to Charity Navigator, the guidance of the rating agencies concerning car donation programs, where the charity receives a flat fee for the use of their name by a third party, versus program management by a third party,there are some questionable companies who contract to use a nonprofit's agencies name and logo to raise funds and then just give them a flat fee unrelated to income or performance. This is frowned upon by rating agencies and the government. However, a percentage return program is viewed positively if the nonprofit receives more than 50% of the generated income.[5] Programs that engage a third party, but with a "cost maximum cap" involved, such as with national charities like the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, performance in this area is exemplary, with 70-80% on average being returned to the nonprofit
